Loved Pa of Daniel, Matthew, Emma, Sarah, Kimberly and Michael.

Great Grandfather of John, Alice and Parker.

The Funeral Service for WILLIAM will be held at St James Anglican Church, Shaw Street, Mortlake on MONDAY (November 18) commencing at 2.00p.m.

The cortège will leave at the conclusion of the Service for the Mortlake cemetery.

RSL members and Masonic Lodge members are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Service.

  1. Condolences to Bill Vale’s family on behalf of the Shears family.
    Bill is the last of Dad’s Dookie students. They were returned servicemen from WW2. We went to Dookie for the reunions every year.
    Meredith and I were happy to be with Bill in Warnambool last April for his hundredth Birthday, with cake and balloons and Dookie photos of Bill with his old friends.

  2. Bill’s sister,Joan, (my mum) used to tell me about their long walk home from school. It may have been across Mt Shadwell, not sure, and whether they were living at Weatherleys I’m not sure, but mum told me about the pranks Bill got up to. One was blocking the end of a hollow log to catch a rabbit inside of it.!
    He got scolded by his parents for dilly-dallying on the way home from school….
    It must have been wonderful times back then..!!
